Ed Laverone served his communities from 1982-2014 in progressively responsible positions, from a volunteer firefighter to a Chief Deputy Sheriff. His 32+ years of experience has provided him a broad range of knowledge. He is a California POST certified instructor, a California Specialized Training Institute Certified Instructor teaching courses in Hazardous Materials, Gangs, Incident Command, Hazardous Materials Investigations, Unusual Occurrences, Leadership and Fire case and Origin.
In addition Ed has wide range experience conducting, supervising or commanding investigations into arson and fire cause, gangs, narcotics from street level to DTO's, missing persons, fraud, robbery, theft, employee theft, honest services fraud and many other areas.
Ed has commanded the following investigative units and specialized teams: narcotics, gangs, criminal intelligence, anti-terrorism, fugitive apprehension and extradition, SWAT, Search and Rescue, Crisis Negotiations, Public Safety Dive, off-road enforcement, Bomb/EOD and Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement.
Ed was the commander of the following Bureaus or Divisions in his career: Corrections Operations Bureau, Special Operations Division, Patrol Division, Jail Operations, Jail Administration, Inmate Transportation, Court Security, Correctional Inmate Services and Corrections Ombudsman.
